Civil Engineering Student

I grew up in Hong Kong, a vibrant city with some of the highest densities of skyscrapers, flyovers and underground railway in the world. I was always fascinated by how buildings are designed, built and maintained, and this led me to study Civil Engineering at Imperial College London, 6000 miles from home. STEM is a very wide area of careers to consider, but it is important not to limit yourself from opportunities. I enjoyed taking part in robotics competitions at school and now at university I am involved with the Shell Eco-marathon where I’ve been working on the chassis of our team’s car. I believe learning from criticisms and failure is what makes a strong team stand out from the rest. I have not been to an actual race before, and am really looking forward to it.
